Hi I'm Austin

I'm from the great state of Texas. I enjoy playing ping pong. I am student body president of my high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in North Carolina, USA but currently reside in Texas. I go to a high school with about 10 other Mormons. I am the president of my high school, and strive to set a good example through my actions, and words. I am also involved in tennis and JROTC. I am a proud brother of a return missionary. My sister served her mission in New Jersey, USA and through her example I have gained a stronger testimony. Her example has helped me decide to serve a mission of my own. I have recently been called to serve a mission in Utah, USA. I can't wait to share the wonderful gospel with the people of Utah, and share the truth and happiness I feel everyday because of it. In my home state of Texas, a couple of my friends and myself helped share the gospel with a 16 year old boy. This experience showed me the amazing feeling one can receive through changing someone's life. I cannot wait to do this same thing everyday in Utah. When I return home from my mission I plan to attend Brigham Young University and study accounting. I wish to open a doctor's office with the help of my older brother. I truly enjoy helping people and making them happy. Everyday I strive to make at least one person smile, and by doing so, make myself smile.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents grew up Mormon and raised me the same. I grew up living gospel standards and knowing gospel truths. However, I still have a choice to make about this church. My parents divorced between my freshman and sophomore year of high school. During this time my older brother was leaving go college, and my older sister was leaving on her mission. It was a trialling time, and because of this I found myself kneeling to the Lord in humble prayer. I would ask God why he put me in this horrible situation, and if he even loves me. After an innumerable amount of prayers and hours of scripture study, I realized that Heavenly Father gives us trials and tribulations so that we may grow stronger. After this situation I felt closer to my family even though I wasn't physically close to my siblings. I learned that God loves each and everyone of us. He knows our lives. He knows our trials. And I know that he only gives us trials that he knows we can overcome.

How I live my faith

The best way I live my faith is through my example. My actions, thoughts, and words are always centered around Jesus Christ. I constantly ask myself, "If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do?" This question is the main thing in my head when dealing with a difficult decision, or a trailing situation. I live my faith by acting in a way that would make our Heavenly Father proud.
