Hi I'm Nelsen

I'm a book-loving, music playing Mormon who lives in Iloilo, Philippines.

About Me

I'm a guy who enjoys life. I spend it with family and friends who shares a common oddity with me. I live a simple life, I'm grateful for the things I have. I love to think or ponder whatever thought that enters my mind most especially the Doctrines of the Gospel, it invites the Spirit more to your life and a deeper understanding of life and your purpose here. How deep, but yeah it what's our soul needs. I'm a book-lover. I love to read books like novels that involves action, twists and love all in one to fill that excitement. Books in the church are amazing, it plays a huge role in building my testimony. Music is a part of my life, I enjoy playing the piano and violin.

Why I am a Mormon

I am born with goodly parents who love the Lord. Pretty much, I have grown into the church and its teachings but honestly, I never had that testimony that I know my beliefs are true. I only have a 'borrowed testimony" from my parents. One time upon reading some of my books. An impression came if I can read this, I can surely read the Book of Mormon so I tried it and as I feast upon it, it became good and delicious unto me, as Alma (a Book of Mormon prophet) would say. So yeah, I have read it always even if I knew it was already true. How did I know of its truthfulness? Because of praying, I asked God if the book I was reading was true. Although the answer did not come immediately but gradually it did. As long as your intentions are right, God will answer your prayers. The promise is extended to all who would 'Come and See' as what the Savior invites us to do. The Book of Mormon has been a huge help for me, by abiding in its precepts, I have never been closer to God.

How I live my faith

I start and end the day with a prayer. It such a great privilege to converse with your Father in Heaven. Daily reading the scriptures is important. Scriptures are great source of inspiring messages and people for edification. The Book of Mormon has brought me closer to Jesus Christ. It gets me to know Him better and how important He is in my life. I see the people around me as children of God, that they are our brothers and sisters. Trying to see in that perspective gives more meaning in my life. Sunday is important for me especially the Sacrament. Partaking of the bread and water gives strength in my soul and to remember the Savior. I would sometimes play the piano in the congregation. The Hymns are a great way to invite the Spirit and revelation. I teach in a Primary class, ages 8-11, how annoying sometimes it may be because of their 'well behavior', but part of me wants to teach them a profound understanding of the gospel in simple ways that they may, I hope, remember in their lives and be a light to those around them.
