Hi I'm Sterling Matthew Fenn

I'm a Mountain Biker, a Cyclist, and a Mormon.

About Me

I participate in Downhill Mountain Biking, and I have also competed in Cycling events. I have ridden since 2012, and in that time I have ridden over 8,000 miles. Through it I have learned a lot about myself, and it has brought me closer to God. I have seen beautiful trails, sunsets, and all kinds of terrain and animals. All evidence to me that God really did create this earth. I am grateful for the talent i have been given, and for the person that I am; and the person that I am becoming. I was raised LDS, and was taught about the church from an early age, despite the fact that we (my family and I) were not actively attending. My father worked Sundays, and for nearly all of my young life, we did not attend church services. My parents have always had a very strong faith in the church, and when i was about eleven years old, we decided we needed to come back to church. My father quit his job and began a new one, and my parents had the missionaries come over to teach us. After they had taught us the lessons, my three brothers and I were baptized. I still remember our very first Sunday, I learned very quickly that this was going to change me, and of course it has, and it continues too. I love this church with all my heart, and i look forward to one day raising my family in the gospel. I know that it has blessed my family greatly, and that it will always bless my life so long as I am faithful to it. I make mistakes as we all do, but i try to do my best to follow Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because i know in my heart that this church is true, there isn't a doubt in my mind otherwise. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one and only authorized church upon the earth. It is Christ's church, and it has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith was called by God to be a prophet, and that he restored this church through revelation from God. I know the Book of Mormon, is true. By the power of God Joseph Smith was able to translate the golden plates, I have prayed, and studied, and i have come to know for myself that the Book of Mormon is the word of God through the power of the Holy Ghost. All people can read the Book of Mormon, and through sincere prayer, can receive an answer from the spirit as I have; that is how we can come to know if this is the church true. I have done this many times, and every time i do, i feel the sweet influence of the spirit, and i know that this is true. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that He gave His life for us. He suffered for us, and He gave us life to save us all from sin. I love the Lord, and i am so grateful for His Atoning sacrifice for us that makes salvation possible. Without Him, we would never be able to live with our Father in Heaven again. I know in my heart, that this is Christ's true church. It has brought me to Him, and it has made me the person that I am today. I do not know where i would be without this gospel, and I am so very thankful for it!

How I live my faith

Everyday I know that my life has a purpose, I know who i am, and i know God's plan. I do my personal best to follow that plan, and to be faithful to the promises i have made to my Heavenly Father. I know that He leads and guides us through the Holy Ghost, and that He watches over us throughout our lives. I try to live my faith through obeying the commandments, and follow Christ's example in all things. I enjoying helping others, and sharing with them the things that i learn. I am trying to emulate the Light of Christ in all that i do, and it's through His spirit that we are able to do that. I routinely study the scriptures, and i truly love the Book of Mormon. Every time I read it i learn something new, and i can feel the spirit radiating from it. I pray often, and try to align my life with what God wants for me. I am not perfect, only Jesus Christ was; but i know what God expects of us and i try to follow Him. Repentance is a principal of change, and that allows me (and all men) to mold myself into who God want's me to be. It is not just righting a wrong, but it is changing who we are. It allows us to change, and to continuing trying. As Elder Jeffery R. Holland has said: "..the Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them,.." Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, gives my life meaning, direction, and purpose; I try my best to follow the Lord, and to be the person He knows I can be.
