Hi I'm Ann Hardy

I'm a mother, a grandmother, a former Kindergarten teacher. I am now a missionary serving in Nauvoo, Illinois. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happy person. I love life and have fun no matter what I do. I always enjoy whatever I am currently doing. I have six wonderful children and 23 grandchildren, all of whom live close enough that I can see them often. I love being a Mom and a Grandma. (My grand-kids call me "Grannie Annie"). I taught Kindergarten for 30 years and loved every minute with those cute little ones. I'm pretty much an expert at reciting Nursery Rhymes. My husband passed away a couple of years ago. We had been married 50 years. I have a bit of talent in writing rhyming verses, and often have the opportunity to tell people's stories in rhyme for a wedding or special occasion. I am never bored. Presently I am serving an LDS Mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. I am loving this experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith, and I have had great peace in following its teachings and tenants. Everything about this Church is clear and easy for me to understand, so I have never had any doubts about its truthfulness. It guides my life in everything I do. I know my Savior lives and I feel His love for me. My prayers have been answered numerous times. I know I will live with my husband and my family again in eternity. What peace this gives me! I know this is the true Church of Jesus Christ restored on the earth today. It is a blessing to be living in these marvelous times.

How I live my faith

I have always loved serving in my Church. As a youth, I loved the myriad of activities that were offered, and the good friends with whom I could associate. We had music festivals, speech festivals, dances, girls camps, and more. As a youth I also had the opportunity to teach the very youngest children in their weekly meetings. As the years have progressed, I have had the chance to work with the youth, planning some of these same experiences for them that I enjoyed at their age. I have also served in the women's organization in my church, teaching spiritual lessons, as well as serving in presidencies of various Church groups and enjoy this very much. I have worked with the Cub Scouts that are sponsored by our Church. I love the life of service that is offered to me as a member of the LDS Church. I am always busy and always involved. Serving a mission in Nauvoo is a highlight. This is a place of historical interest in our Church and I have the opportunity of sharing this history with visitors who come to learn. This is an amazing place, and I am so grateful to be here at this point in my life.
