Hi I'm David

I'm a convert. I am a ward missionary. I enjoy sharing the gospel with people who need to hear it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In 2010, my previous church was in the process of closing. I was wondering what my new church would be. One day, my doorbell rang and two Elders asked if they could come in and teach me a lesson. I agreed and they told me they wanted to teach me from the book of Amos, which was a scripture for my final Bible study at my old church. When the Elders chose the book of Amos, I felt that Heavenly Father was reaching out to me in a very personal way. The Elders taught me every Tuesday that summer until the week of the closing service at my old church. They invited me to sacrament meeting, which worked out well because that was in the morning and my final service was in the afternoon. At the end of sacrament meeting, the hymn was 'I Believe in Christ' which I felt was a very beautiful hymn. Then I went to Gospel Principles class and Elder's quorum where the subject was the Reformation. One of the brothers stated that our church has no animosity toward the men of the Reformation, which was very comforting to me as I had spent 19 years in the Lutheran church. The following Sunday, for the first time in 19 years, my old church was gone and I decided to return to sacrament meeting. I did this for every Sunday until I was baptized. I joined the Church in October 2011.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I'm a Mormon is because I feel unity and love here that I did not feel in the part of my life before I joined the Church. The members of our church follow the Savior and put Him above their own personal desires. When we obey the commandments, not only do we help others, but we also help ourselves because giving is much more rewarding than taking. Everyone in this church serves because we all have an important role to play in God's kingdom-- which exists here and now on earth, not only in the future. Our church acts out the Gospel in the real world, in addition to sharing the scriptures with members of our church and our community. When people see us, they understand that we really mean what we say, and do what our Lord wants us to do.

How I live my faith

I have two callings: ward missionary and executive secretary for the bishop. Each of these callings help me to learn more about our people and about the Gospel. I love being connected to the ward members and to investigators in a way that helps both of us to learn more about the Savior and share his love with others. Each week brings me new experiences, which help me to appreciate how important it is to be disciples of Jesus Christ in a world that needs His guidance so badly.
