Hi I'm David

I grew up in a small town in Idaho. I'm studying to be a chemical engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm attending college and studying to become a chemical engineer. I love outdoor activities like hiking or playing sports. I'm the youngest of seven kids. I grew up working to pay for both college and missionary service by mowing lawns, working as a farm hand, doing construction, and milking our family's cow.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents have been members of the Church their entire lives, and I was baptized when I was eight years old. The Gospel has shaped who I am and has helped me become who I am today. I continue to live the Gospel the best I can because it brings me lots of happiness. The Gospel has helped me understand why I'm here on the earth, where I came from and where I'm going after this life. It's answered many of life's questions and brought peace to my life. It's helped me become more like the person I want to be. I am a Mormon because it brings lots of happiness and peace to my life. I'm a Mormon because I believe the teachings of the Church are true. I believe it's the same church that Jesus established when he was on the earth. I believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that He lives today and is the only way to someday be saved and return to Him and our Heavenly Father. I believe God is our Heavenly Father and He loves us more than we can comprehend. He has restored the Church through Joseph Smith the prophet. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon which is entirely true, just like Joseph Smith said it was. I believe these things to be true, and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now, I've been called to serve as a missionary for the Church in the Washington Seattle Mission. I'll leave my family and home for two years and do all I can to serve the Lord and other people. I'll wait until after I've completed my mission to complete my education. Largely at my own expense, I'll share messages about the Church and the Savior Jesus Christ with other people and will dedicate all my time to helping others and teaching others about the Church. Each day, I look for opportunities to help others and to serve someone else in some way. I'm trying to live like Jesus Christ would and serve other people like He does. I'm not perfect, but I believe I am getting better as I do my best to always be honest and courteous in everything I do.
