Hi I'm Samantha

I'm a college student, a runner, a musician, and a nature lover ...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year of college! I love playing just about any kind of sport, most especially soccer and running. To add to that, I love being outside and enjoying all that nature has to offer. I also love music, and play the piano, the violin, and am learning to play the organ. In the future, I see myself pursuing a career in some form of social work or counseling because I want to help people overcome their challenges. Currently, I am preparing to serve a mission in St. Louis, Missouri!

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior Jesus Christ and know of His unconditional love and sacrifice for each of us. I know that this church teaches the truths that Jesus taught while He lived on the earth, and is His restored church, such that it was restored with all of the teachings, organization, and power as existed during Jesus Christ's ministry. I love this gospel and its message of faith and love and its focus on Jesus Christ as our Lord and Redeemer. This gospel also focuses on the family and how the family can and is meant to extend into the eternities! I also have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is God's word; the Bible and the Book of Mormon work together to testify of Christ and to teach us what we need to do to be with our Father in Heaven again! I'm a Mormon because I have lived the truths of this gospel, I have prayed to know the truth of its message, and I have received a witness from God--a peace and joy--that this is God's church and that its message and works are good.

How I live my faith

I served in the Sunday school while I was at college, and was able to help teachers prepare to teach lessons from the Old and New Testament. Because the congregation, or ward, consisted of university students, it was great to learn from my friends and peers about the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the scriptures. I continue to live my faith each day by trying to become more like Jesus Christ. I am also preparing to serve an 18 month mission in Missouri where I will have the opportunity to perform service for others and teach people about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
