Hi I'm Caitlyn Slater

I'm a Mormon. I was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I attended Brigham Young University before deciding to serve a mission.

About Me

I am the oldest of five. I recently completed my first year of college at BYU and I love learning! I also enjoy being outdoors. I especially love swimming and just being out in the sun. I have been a lifeguard for most of my teen years and I have loved every minute of it. I like doing random acts of service for those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I enjoy being one. I like the standards that are set by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They help me live my life to my full potential. I am happy when I am following what I know is right. There have been times where I have not followed the guidelines of the church and I had a sinking feeling in my heart but as soon as I started living by the guidelines, I felt so much better about myself. I was a happier person. This church teaches a message of happiness. In the end we all want to be happy right? I know that when I am living by the teachings of this church, I am truly happy and I can feel God's love for me.

How I live my faith

While I was at college, I lived in a large housing complex with a whole bunch of girls. For my church, I was in charge of watching over the girls on my floor just to make sure that everything was going okay for them. I got to know a little bit about them and was able to help them if they ever needed it. I loved serving them by taking them a batch of cookies or just going over to their apartment to visit. Getting to know over sixty girls is what made my first year at college successful. Everyday I was able to forget myself for a little bit and focus on the needs of others.
