Hi I'm Britt Rose

I am a writer. I have Asperger's syndrome. I love animals. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church with both parents and three brothers. I discovered that I have Asperger's syndrome when I was 19. I love animals, especially dogs, and I want to be a professional writer. I learned to embroider as a kid, which I still do.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a area where I have friends that are both members of the church and not, and I'll admit, as a kid, I was sometimes wondering why we had so many rules. But as I saw what happened to others around me, both in the history lessons that I heard, or in the scriptures, or even the people in my life, it helped me understand that they were just there to protect me. I love the companionship of how we all accept each other and welcome people that we don't know.

How I live my faith

I love helping to teach children both inside and outside of the church. I volunteer in the classrooms of my friends as I work on my education, and I have taught a class of 8 year old girls in our church. It has taught me so many lessons in patience and preparation. I feel blessed to have learned these things alongside the children.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Britt Rose
Everyone who has a calling in our church has a job or they are going to school or being a stay at home parent. All of our worthy men have the priesthood, so they are qualified to hold any position that we need them to. One of the best things about this is that no one needs to stay in a calling for life, so we all can move if our everyday lives require it. Show more Show less
