Hi I'm Tapanga Hurst

I'm from Kentucky. I am a college student, and photographer. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student at a local community college. I'm currently majoring in visual communications. Photography is my passion. I love watching and playing sports, especially basketball. But, when I was younger I injured my knee, and have had 7 surgeries since then, so I haven't got to play much. I love being around family and friends. I am a convert to the church. I was baptized last year, and my parents just recently joined also.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. When the missionaries started teaching my family and I, the things they taught really seemed to be true. I prayed, asking if this is the church I should join, and I feel that I received my answer through scripture in the Book of Mormon. Alma Chapter 32. Through prayer and scripture study, you can receive your answer. The church has truly helped strengthen my testimony. It didn't take away from what I already knew to be true, but helped confirm what I already believed. I believe that this church is true. Jesus Christ is our Savior. We have a loving Heavenly Father who truly cares about us. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that everyone can enjoy the happiness and the peace that comes from the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I am currently a family history consultant for the branch. I absolutely love doing family history work. I always try to read my scriptures and study daily, and I pray daily. I think doing those things help me to truly live my faith.
