Hi I'm Oliver Davies

Raised in Texas. Fan of awesomeness. BYU Cougar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I graduated high school recently and am now enrolled at an awesome university and really enjoy learning and having a great time in college. I love sports. My favorites are basketball and football. Growing up I enjoyed playing sports and in high school I played football for my school team. I also have a love for music and enjoy playing guitar and piano for fun in my free time. I was even in a band for a short time with some friends in high school and we had some pretty big gigs. I enjoy all kinds of recreational activities such as long-boarding, skateboarding, surfing, pretty much anything with a board. I love hanging out with friends, movies, and listening to all kinds of music. I am the oldest of 5 siblings and enjoy the perks of being the oldest, as well as messing around with my younger siblings. I am currently serving a mission in the Washington Spokane mission!

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in the church has had a profound effect on who I have become. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has brought so much good in my life. Following Jesus Christ and learning of His gospel brings a great sense of peace in my life, as I strive to do what is right and be a good person. I have come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and that Jesus Christ's church has been reestablished on this earth through His prophet Joseph Smith. That Jesus Christ truly was resurrected and lives again and is at the head of this church. I know God continues to speak to us through His modern day prophets and apostles and that He has not left us alone. God loves us and wants us to return to his presence. We are His children and he loves us more than we can imagine. Being a member of this church has blessed me to make wise decisions and has taught me to keep myself healthy and strong. I share this because I want others to be able to have the opportunity to experience this. I have been blessed with it in my life and I want others to experience the joy and wholeness that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings in one's life. I know who I am, I know why I am here, and I know what I must do in order to return to my Heavenly Father and enter into the Kingdom. Those things are so valuable to me and it has all come from being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I've grown up my whole life in the church and thus far have had many different opportunities and duties within the church that have been awesome learning experiences. In middle school and high school I participated in a lot of activities with my fellow youth and friends in the church. I was called to many leadership positions over my peers that really was meant to help me serve them and attend to their needs, making sure they felt welcome and eager to come participate. I've worked with many adult youth leaders in planning fun activities for the youth and enjoyed my time serving in that capacity. Now that I am a bit older I still have the great opportunity of planing and preparing lessons and activities for my fellow peers and enjoy my time serving in that capacity. The goal for me has always been to try and become more Christlike and I try to exemplify that every day as best as I can in my community, at school, and at work.
