Hi I'm Tayson

I'm from Rupert, Idaho, and I'm currently serving a full-time mission in the Arizona Mesa Mission. June 2015-June 2017.

About Me

I was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to my parents, Eric and Sallesa. I am the second of four children, and I was raised for a majority of my life in Rupert, Idaho. I graduated from Minico High School in the class of 2013. Eventually, I decided to work after high school instead of going straight to college, which helped me to understand my role in society. Now I wasn't always active in the church. In fact, after I graduated from high school, I was completely against the church. That all changed when missionaries became my friends and invited me to search for the truth. Growing up in the church, I of course did my duty with serving others, but I didn't have my own testimony. I knew all of the first principles and ordinances in the gospel, yet I didn't know what they truly meant to me. I enjoyed visiting the Twin Falls temple when we performed baptisms for the dead as a Ward! With troubling life experiences of being bullied and multiple losses of close friends to the spirit world, I lost faith in the purpose of life. I didn't care if there was a God. While at work, I was approached by a couple of Elders who truly cared. Through many experiences prior, missionaries in particular were being sent my way. Even when I didn't know it. These messengers were sent from God. Coming back was a difficult process for me. I needed a friend, and that was the Savior. Repentance and the Atonement are real. God truly does care, He has a plan for me to be happy! This gospel is the answer!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of 8, when I knew this church was true. I sought for answers when I began learning more and more about the church. It wasn't just because my family were members, or because people told me what I needed to do. It was the Spirit that confirmed to me that this is real, this is Christ's church. This was a necessary step in my life as I honored the invitation from Jesus to follow him. I am a member because I know this is true. You have to find out for yourself if the Book of Mormon contains the word of God in perfect clarity. As I look back on my life, I treasure the blessings of the gospel. The Atonement is what carries me everyday. We can change, we can truly put our life in the Lord's hands. He can heal us. When the time comes that we pass on to the other side, we will soon have to stand and answer for the works we have done. With Faith in the Savior, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, Enduring to the End, and so forth, I know that I am forgiven of all my sins. There are cleansing and enabling powers from the Atonement. Because I have been given much, I too, must give. I decided to serve a mission because I received answers to my personal prayers if this was true. I know I am a child of God, and He loves me. I'm a missionary, an Idahoan, a mountain biker, a runner, and I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving God and serving his children. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve a mission in Arizona. Making a daily habit of reading the scriptures is vital and necessary for progression in this life. Attending church weekly has also blessed me because that is where I feel God's love. In a world such as ours, it is difficult to find peace. At church, there is that peace. I also live my faith with the knowledge of Eternal families. Temples are truly sacred places where the Lord dwells. His Priesthood has been restored to the Earth! This is how it is all possible! In my life, I've been blessed with the influence of others who hold the Priesthood and live worthy of it! As I serve daily, I look for ways I can help His children. I must honor my Priesthood. I do have a goal to be sealed for time and all eternity in the temple. As for now, serving my mission has been the best decision I've made in my life thus far. I am proud to be a part of this church! I live it, I love it, and I want to share my testimony to the world!
