Hi I'm Venice

-I am from a small town in southern utah, I am a nurse at the local hospital. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 6 daughter and 3 sons, with 30 grandchildren. We have a lot of fun as a family. Some of our favorite activities are working together, swimming, riding horses, four wheelers in the mountains and sand hills. The mountains are one of our favoite place to be, the beauty of God is all around us. I graduated as registered nurse after raising my family. I love to help people an be a part of them become well. Serving others brings joy and happiness into my life. We like to go to Church on sunday- and visiting families member and friends that need a little love from us. Animals are our passion and we have had horses, cows, dogs, many cats. we even have 3 mother pigs that each have 10 of more babies twice a year. Nothing is cuter that a baby, squieling, pig. Many of our ancestors crossed the plains with the pioneers, in the early 1840. We love to do family history and find the stories and histories of the ancectory that became before us. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a big part of our lives, it guides our family in a direction that helps us become better people. keeping God commandments and trying to live as Jesus lived bring joy and happiness into our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents started my testimony growing as a youth. I love the teaching of Jesus and especially the part of Families are sealed together for the eternities. Jesus Christ has a plan to help every living person, if they will but turn to him and follow his teaching. There are so many people that I love and God is there it help every one of them. There is no other church that offers these promises and blessing. That is why I love being a Mormon, I have read the Book of Mormon and it testifies of these truths.I know that my Heavenly Fathers loves me and I want to follow in his foot steps.

How I live my faith

We live in a small community of 1000 people. I work with the women of our church . Each month we have a enrichment meeting where we get together and all the ladies come for learn, friendship, good food and sharing the teaching of Jesus Christ with each other. Some of our meeting have been focus on self improvement, food storage. humanitiatian work, food gathering. clothing drives and many other activities to help those that have less that we do. Each year town member get together an celebrate, Oak City days. We have a parade, booths with crafts, food and games for the kids. Volunteers from the community is the key to success for this celebration. A choir concert, a great bar-b-que beef and pork dinner prepared by volunteers.Good entertainment ,such as, singing and skits are shared with all those that attend. At night we have a good old fashioned dance with an orchestra from the town member. Could it be any better! Family and friends attend each year and the population of the town goes from 800 people to 2000 for the day. Good times are enjoyed by all that attend. Another way we serve in the community is with visiting teaching. We are assigned to have 2 ro 3 ladies to visit each month. To teach the ladies about Jesus Christ and help them when needed. Just reciently one of our families moved to a different house in town. The Ward member help them move and dinner was provided for the family. Each memorial day the youth of the town have a night at the cementary to go and clean around the graves , cutting grass and pickup trash are the jobs for everyone. Dinner is provided by the ladies of the church. Through these and many more activities we are able to bring people closer together in in love and unitity, through service to others.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Being a mother of 9 children I have a firm and strong testimony that God sent his children down to earth in family. Children need care ,tending, teaching and love. It takes a team of mother and father, aunts and uncles, cousins and grand parents and comminity to raise a child. I am nurse at a local hospital. I have had the privilege of being on many deliveries of newborns, and also the other side of life many death of loved one. There is so much joy at the birth of a new baby. Happiness, excitement, tears of joy, feel the room as the new little infant is handed into the arms of his mother. Then at the other end. When we are leaving this life, the is sadiness, tears, words of love and parting. As one leave to go home to that God that gave him life. I belief that we were in families before we came to earth, we came to earth in families and when we leave we will be in families in Heaven. I cannot imagine, not seeing by mother and father again, or the little child we lost ,so many years ago. God is a God of love we are His children and he also wants us to come back to him, just as we want to see our earthly family again after this life. Yes I believe that families are forever and that what is sealed on earth is sealed in Heaven. Show more Show less
