Hi I'm Kalen

I love to feed my imagination through creating art and reading. I play Division 1 Men's collegiate volleyball. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up living all around the United States. I moved around a lot and went to a bunch of different schools. Even though it was tough a lot of the time to leave what was comfortable and the friends I had made I believe I'm better off for it. I have been exposed to all sorts of life styles and communities as well as making many long lasting relationships. I played every sort of sport imaginable growing up until I finally found volleyball my freshman year of high school. I decided to try out for the team my freshman year and fell in love with the sport. Unfortunately we moved after my freshman year to a high school without volleyball so I played tennis instead. We then moved again for my junior year to a school in California where I began playing high school volleyball again as well as club. I managed to finish up my high school years with honors and graduated valedictorian of my class. I know attend Brigham Young University as a member of their Men's Volleyball team and plan on graduating as an animation major.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and always believed it to be true. The many blessings that it brought about in my life and the happiness that it brought me lead me to trust in the Gospel and believe its message; however, I can't say I really knew it was true until I received my patriarchal blessing. In the blessing I received many blessings and direction relevant to my life, but one stood out from all the others. In my patriarchal blessing, given to me by a righteous priesthood holder chosen by God, I received a very specific and very personal answer to my prayers. It was an answer to something I had been praying about in earnest for a few weeks leading up to receiving my blessing. The answer was so specific and so clear that at that moment I knew without a shadow of a doubt that God lived, that he loved me, and that this was his gospel and his church on the Earth. I am a member of this church because this gospel has allowed me to get to where I am today. I choose to live the gospel because it brings so much happiness in my life, and I am a Mormon because I know beyond a question that this is Heavenly Father's church.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My purpose and goal is to invite all to come unto Christ. What this means for me is providing a chance for any and all to have the opportunity to share in the blessings and joy that this Gospel brings. I have always had this goal, and tried to act in such a way as to share the Gospel with others. However, as a full-time missionary, I have left my studies at college, as well as my family, friends, and life behind as I traveled to Honduras commited for two years to serving the Lord.
