Hi I'm Sheri

I enjoy exploring my heritage, such as visiting the Scottish Highlands. One of my favorite words is liberty. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love heights. I find joy in parasailing, hot air ballooning, and viewing the Grand Canyon from the amazing glass bridge. Each of these opportunities has left me in awe of God's creations and his love for us. I also feel blessed to be a wife and mother. I had righteous parents that were my example. I grew up in a home grounded by the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always felt loved and supported. My parents reinforced with me that with hard work, righteous living, and God's help I had the potential to do anything, if it be God's will, which resulted in my being a confident youth and adult. As a communications professional, I'm a storyteller. However, I find the best stories are in the scriptures, such as the Book of Mormon and the Bible. As I feast on them, they open up to nourish me, providing helpful answers and direction for my life's journey.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was born and raised in the Church. I have always enjoyed the peace that comes with knowing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me and love me. I have never felt alone. Never. They are always with me. I pray throughout the day, whether I need help with an answer, to request protection over one of our children, or for help with a big presentation. Because my parents taught me, with God anything is possible, if it be His will. But I must have faith and I have to ask for God's help. Yes, God does know all. But we must ask and we must show gratitude, which is another reason I'm frequently praying. He is always blessing me and I'm continuously giving thanks. And through the Savior's atonement, I know I can be with my family forever, which brings me great comfort and an eternal perspective. I'm grateful for the gospel and restored Church. This solid foundation helps me in my quest to return to the presence of our loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I feel blessed serving as a youth leader/mentor/instructor in the Church of Jesus Christ for more than 20 years. Helping to shape the next generation is a privilege. I had the opportunity to serve as an early morning scripture study instructor and was so impressed by the commitment of the students to be there each weekday at 6 a.m. ready to participate. I recall feeling the Spirit especially strong throughout my workday during that year of teaching. I participated in the Church's youth programs when I was young, and the Christlike attributes, goal setting, and presentation skills I learned as a youth have served me well in my home life, career, church service, and professional/community volunteerism. I'm so grateful to be a Mormon.
