Hi I'm Hannah

I grew up in Utah. I collected relief items for Hurricane Katrina victims. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love doing anything that gets me outside - rock climbing, kayaking, camping, hiking, running - it's all so great! I just finished my freshman year of college and loved almost every second of it! I also love to travel, and although I haven't done a whole lot of that yet, someday I'm going to see the world. I enjoy reading and learning, especially about biology and physiology. Dinosaurs and sharks are my favorite animals because they are the coolest. I also like almost any animal in baby form.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know Jesus Christ loves each of us so much that He would not leave us in these days without modern prophets and revelation. He has an age old pattern of leading His people (that's you and me!) through the mouth of His servants, the prophets. This church is lead by a prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and apostles just like when Christ was on the earth. I also know the Book of Mormon is true. I've grown closer to my Savior by reading that book and living by it's teachings than anything else I've ever done. My Savior speaks to me through the prophet and apostles and the Book of Mormon. He knows me and He has been by my side, lifting me through every hard day. He knows you and loves you so much more than you could ever imagine. His atonement was made for you, and for every other person to ever exist. But the crazy thing is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, thought specifically about YOU while He was suffering and dying. I know that this is His gospel restored to the earth, and that this is the way back to Him. The power of prayer is real. If you ask sincerely, about anything, He will answer you. If you follow Him, He will bless you in ways you could not imagine. There have been times in my life when I was at the rock bottom, and it was only through Him that I was able to find joy again. I know that Jesus Christ and God, our Heavenly Father, live. I know that through them, we can live again. I know that through their power, families can live together forever and the sting of death is removed. I know that they love me perfectly, and if they can love me after every mistake I've made and in spite of every flaw I have, then they certainly love you. There is nothing you can do that will drive that perfect, eternal love away. I close this testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

In my college ward, I was in charge of organizing weekly activities to help my group grow closer to our Savior Jesus Christ, have fun, and make new friends. Right now I'm preparing to serve a full time mission, and I've had several opportunities to participate in Sunday meetings and lessons. I've also been able to share some spiritual insights with my family and friends.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Hannah
I have increased my faith by simply doing what the Lord has asked of me. It's definitely not always easy, but I've seen direct blessings in my life from each and every commandment. Lots of times when I'm struggling with faith, it's because I'm not spending enough time in the scriptures and in humble prayer. We don't need to read the Bible or Book of Mormon for hours on end, but we should be studying them on a daily basis. When I study the scriptures for even 10 minutes each day, it improves my outlook on life and my faith in Christ. I'm better able to recognize His hand in my life and have more trust and faith in Him and His counsel. Prayer is also a big part of that. We need to talk to God. We need to include Him in our lives and our decisions, big or small. He always wants to hear from us and He always wants to help us. Many blessings are dependent on us having the faith to ask for them, which we cannot do without praying sincerely. That's the long answer. The short answer - read and think about His words, keep His commandments, and pray to Him. Show more Show less
