Hi I'm Katherine Hamilton

Born and raised all over the United States, I love to serve God and His children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read! And look up crafts, quotes, and recipes on Pinterest. Exercising, the scriptures, and music are the best way for me to feel better. I want to double-major in Linguistics and History. I love the Oregon Coast and hope the move there one day.

Why I am a Mormon

When many of my siblings began to question their faith, I realized the importance that I too must know if I believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I turned to the Book of Mormon, the keystone of our religion, when I was 14. I would spend every night reading scheduled chapters so that I could finish in three months. By April of my 14th year, I had come to the passage in Moroni 10:4, instructing that whoever had read the words found in the Book of Mormon and wanted to know if they were true, to pray to Heavenly Father and he would tell you. So I went to a quiet place in my house and offered my heart to God. I suddenly felt an urgent need to know that the Book of Mormon was true and therefore the Church was true. I needed to know Joseph Smith had been a prophet and that President Thomas S. Monson was a living prophet on the Earth today. I needed to know because what I didn't know was that soon after this event, I would go through High School and later into college with a constant bombardment of ridicule and persecution from those who I loved who claimed the church wasn't true. So I decided to follow in Enos' footsteps and committed that I would pray all night if I had to. After about ten minutes though, the Lord, who knew my struggles and the desire of my heart, finally answered me. I felt a sudden warmth, that reminded me of someone's arms, embrace me and a comforting peace filled my chest and the thought "It's true" rang through my mind. I testify this church is true. I know my Heavenly Father loves me. I know that He has a plan for us which included Jesus Christ's death and atonement for our sins. I know Jesus Christ lives and overcame death so that we may return to God as well. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to translate the Heavenly inspired and very true ancient scripture, the Book of Mormon. I know that President Thomas S. Monson and all the other apostles and generals authorities of the church are called of God as well. In Jesus name, Amen,

How I live my faith

At the moment I am between callings as I am preparing for my mission. But I strive to go to church every Sunday, read the scriptures and pray everyday, and be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I look for ways to serve in anyway I can so that through me, others may see the light of Christ I carry with me.
