Hi I'm Annie

I grew up all over Utah, I'm a Family History Junkie. I'm A Mormon

About Me

I was born in Sanpete County, in a town that barely needed a stop light. My grandmother was my nurse when I was born, thats how small the town is. From a very young age, I knew I wasn't like most kids. I loved old things, stories of places from long ago. Even now I love to walk into a antique shop and touch things that my Ancestors may have touched. To imagine the stories behind the objects, or old homes, just makes my heart just glow, and my curiosity just burn. I had always been intrested in family history, but I didn't start until I was in my mid twenties. It was just after my Grandpa passed away, I got this really prompting to get started on my family research, like someone was just pushing me towards it. From there it just took off. It was like I caught a deasise, and the only way to cure it was to coninue to work on finding my family and their stories. My Dad would always tell me that I had the Spirit of Elijah, and I never knew what that meant until I really started reading the scriptures. I know that Heavenly Father wants me to do this work, its as important to me as it is to him.

Why I am a Mormon

I had been born in this faith, but never really understood why it was so important to live my faith, or why the scriptures and prayer were so vital. One day, something told me it was time to go back, that everything would work out and fall into place if I would just go back. And it did, it seemed like all the missing pieces in my life just fell into place. I began to understand the scriptures better, and prayer became a constant thing, that I couldn't believe that I walked away to begin with. Heavenly Father was always there for me, he was just waiting for me to open the door. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. They are wonderful writings of our prophets from the past, speaking to us in the presant. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true seer and revelator, he was chosen by our Heavenly Father to restore his church, to pave the way to return to him. I believe that Thomas S. Monson was also called by God to keep us on the path of righteousness. With out a living prophet we could never know the way back to our Heavenly Father. We live in a world with many messages, but to be closer to God we must heed his words, through the scriptures, our prophet, and by the holy ghost by praying always. He is knocking at the door, you just have to let him in.

How I live my faith

In my family, I'm considered the family historian. I gather not just past information about my family, but also recent events that take place. I just recently joined a wonderful group of women that volunteer in collecting and document our ancestors pasts. I also try to help anyone who has questions on how to start their own family history, or help find information for people who are from other places and send it to them.
