Hi I'm Evan

I grew up in California then moved to Idaho when I was 11. I have been assigned to the Mexico Puebla North Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love to play sports. I was blessed with athletic talents, and during middle and high school, had the opportunity to use them. I enjoy playing football and soccer, and volleyball with my friends. I love to meet new people, and to serve those in need, even if it's just being kind and providing words of encouragement or praise. Through sports, I have been able to strengthen my leadership skills, and have been able to help others as a member of a team, when the team would provide service for the community. And I have been able to witness the blessings and joy that come from service, and being served. I also enjoy the outdoors, and love to go camping or hiking, or swimming. Seeing and exploring the beautiful world that Heavenly Father created is one of my favorite hobbies, and I strive to make this earth cleaner when I am outdoors, by picking up trash and disposing of it, and by leaving a place better than it was when I arrived there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, partly because I grew up in the church, with parents and siblings who knew and taught me of the gospel principles, and encouraged me to gain a testimony of my own of the gospel, and the scriptures, and of Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Ghost. However, as I realized that I have agency; the power to make my own decisions, I decided for myself that I would continue to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Prophets of the church, because I knew that they were true, because I knew in my heart that this is the only true church on this earth today, and that this is where I need to be in my life. I am a Mormon, because I choose to be, and because I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. I am a Mormon, because I desire to follow Jesus Christ in every aspect of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the members of my ward. I pass the sacrament every Sunday and help others remember promises that they have made with Heavenly Father when they became members of the church. I will soon depart to Mexico to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, for two years time. There I will seek for and encourage others to come to the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to search the scriptures on their own, so that they may gain a testimony of the gospel and feel in their hearts that it is true.
