Hi I'm McKay

I was born in Arizona. I am studying engineeringand love to play volleyball, go four-wheeling, and ride motorcycles. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Arizona for my entire life. I am the youngest of four children. I am currently studying Engineering at Arizona State University and am preparing to serve a mission in Peru. In my free time I like to work on cars or motorcycles, go camping, swimming, play sports, and drive.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but was never very interested in it. I even identified as atheist for a while. I went through high school doing my own thing thinking I had life figured out. Everything fell apart my senior year of high school, right as it was time to make a bunch of decisions in my life. I knew I wanted a happy family of my own in the future and that the family is very important in the church. I decided to do what I'd heard growing up and find out if the church is true. I had prayed before and read the Book of Mormon, but never had I done it with real intent. I more just did it so I could say I did, but I never really wanted an answer until this time. It took some work, I prayed and read the Book of Mormon daily for about a month before I received an answer, but I did receive an answer. It was an unmistakable feeling. Since then I have learned just how much our Savior, Jesus Christ, loves each one of us. I have come to know that He did suffer for each of our sins and through Him we can not only be cleansed, but changed. I am grateful for this knowledge and for His sacrifice.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the church. I currently teach the youth, ages 13-14 each Sunday. I love being able to help teach them about Jesus Christ. I learn so much myself by teaching them and I am better able to follow Christ's example because of this. I strive, one day at a time, to follow Christ's example by looking for ways to help those around me and by sharing His Gospel.
