Hi I'm Barbara

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am a retired educator, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am a retired educator, and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Lutheran Church and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through friends we met while my husband was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They invited us into their home to hear the gospel message and be taught by the missionaries. The principle of the gospel that most resonated with me was that of eternal marriage and eternal families. As a young newlywed I knew I wanted my marriage to not just be "until death do us part", and I knew that I wanted my future family to be a "forever" one. We enjoyed a whirlwind conversion, and we were baptized two weeks after first meeting the missionaries. I treasure my membership in the Church . The restored gospel has been the true source of happiness in my life. It's teachings and principles have shaped and guided my family for the past forty three years. I love that my children can enjoy the rich blessings that the gospel affords their families. My greatest joy is knowing that through gospel ordinances our family is forever. Seven children and 26 grandchildren now enjoy the blessings that come through membership in the restored gospel.

How I live my faith

For the past four years my husband and I have served as temple workers in the Logan Utah Temple. We love serving in the temple where patrons can come to grow closer to our Heavenly Fsther and gain more understanding of His plan. We feel very grateful and blessed to have recently been called to serve a mission in The New York Rochester Mission as ordinance workers in the Palmyra Temple. We are humbled for the opportunity to serve in the area where Joseph Smith received the First Vision and where the Gospel was restored.
