Hi I'm Clint

I grew up in Boise, Idaho, I am an Eagle Scout, a musician, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time two year mission for the LDS church. I graduated from high school in May 2014. I am aspiring to become a musician because it's something that I love to do. I received my Eagle Scout award in February 2014, and it was quite the accomplishment being that I was working towards it for 7 years. I took marching band all four years of high school and I played the alto saxophone in a band of about 60 members. I love to play guitar and write music! I find it to be one of my favorite hobbies as well as playing basketball and spending time with friends and family. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, one of my brothers being a returned missionary from the Arizona Tucson Spanish-speaking mission. I am very proud of him and the example he has set for me and my family!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with this gospel for my whole life, since I was a baby. For my whole life I have learned the doctrine and principles and ordinances of this gospel, such as faith in Jesus Christ, repentance of our sins, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, partaking the Sacrament, serving those whom you love, reading the scriptures, and praying each and every morning and night to my Father in Heaven. I choose to follow His gospel because I know that it is true, and that it's the only true gospel to have been bestowed upon this Earth. I know that because this gospel was removed from this Earth because of unbelievers, it was restored once again through the prophet Joseph Smith in these latter days, and that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. I know the Book of Mormon to be the most true book to have ever been on the face of this Earth, and I know its contents to be true. I invite any one of you who is reading this right now to read the Book of Mormon and to think about it and pray about, and I know that by the power of the Holy Ghost that you will receive an answer, and a confirmation that it is true. Because of the Book of Mormon, we know that Joseph Smith was indeed called of God as a prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon. We know that Jesus is the Christ and that He provided a way for us to return with Him in His presence.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday to worship my Lord and Savior for the things that he has done for me and for all of us on this Earth. I participate in Sunday school classes where we learn more about the doctrines and principles that the Lord has provided for us so that we can receive inspiration and have peace and joy in our lives. I partake of what we call the Sacrament, which is where we have the opportunity to take the time to remember the atoning sacrifice that the Lord has suffered for us and for our sins. We do this by partaking of bread and water, which represent the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Partaking of the Sacrament allows us to renew the promises that we have made with God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We also like to serve one another and help each other with trials they may be having and we support them in their responsibilities and duties as church members. Some of these responsibilities include the bishop and his counselors, teachers, clerks, young men's/women's leaders, and so forth. We strive to keep the Lord's commandments in our every-day lives and fulfill the doctrines that He has given us so that one day we may return with Him in his presence and dwell in His kingdom forever. If we desire to live this gospel, He will bless us and provide us with peace and comfort. We pray each day and each night to thank the Lord for all that we have and for the many blessings He has given us. We ask him questions that we may have and ask for blessings upon one another. When we pray to our Father in Heaven, we show that we have faith in Him that He will provide for our spiritual and emotional needs, and it shows that we love Him, and He loves us. We believe in the keystone to our religion, which is the Book of Mormon. It is another testament of Jesus Christ that is comparable to the Bible, and it contains the things of that which we must do in order to live happy lives and once again return with Him in heaven. I know these things to be true.

What is faith?

Clint
Faith is to hope for things which are not seen, which are true. We have faith in Jesus Christ by following His example and living His gospel because that is what He has commanded us to do. If we plant the seed of faith in our hearts and nourish it with scripture study, fervent prayer, and obedience to God's commandments, our faith will grow within us and we will be more willing to serve Him and keep His commandments. What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Clint
God is our loving Heavenly Father who was a body of flesh and bones, just like us. He loves each and every one of us because we are all His children. He has a prefect knowledge of all things including our thoughts and feelings, and because of this He wants us to pray to Him to seek for guidance and comfort so that He can help us with our trials and tribulations that we may have.
