Hi I'm Sara Jane

I love hiking, playing tennis and skiing. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Manchester England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University and planning on studying nursing. I am from Utah and I love all things outdoors, whether its camping, hiking, skiing or spending time on the lake. I also love playing tennis and golf, listening to music and hanging out with my wonderful family and friends. I am preparing to serve a mission in Manchester England, speaking Mandarin Chinese! I could not be more excited for this opportunity in my life. I am the 2nd of 6 kids with 4 brothers and 1 sister. I am grateful for the church in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing else in my life has ever brought me so much happiness and joy as this church has. I have been able to gain a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I have felt their love for me and their influence in my life. When I have been in dark places and struggling in my life, I have found comfort and hope through the church. I know that everything good in my life is from Heavenly Father and He has truly blessed me in countless ways. Through the gospel, I have been able to find a purpose in my life and gained the knowledge of how I can be with my family and friends forever. I also know that through Jesus Christ's Atonement, I can be forgiven of sins that I have done. This gospel has brought me so much happiness and I am so glad I get to share it with the people of England.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the standards set by our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. He receives revelation from God of what members of his church should be doing. Some of these standards and commandments include: Wearing modest clothes, not drinking alcohol, tea or smoking, not participating in recreational activities on sundays, listening to wholesome and clean music, not watching vulgar or inappropriate movies and abstaining from sexual activity until marriage. While these standards may sound restricting to some, they have truly brought me so much happiness and self-worth. I also have church callings where I have to teach a class about doctrine in the church every Sunday to the women in our ward. In addition, I frequently attend the LDS temples where I can perform work that is essential to my salvation, as well as others.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Sara Jane
We believe that our body is a gift from God. We have received modern day revelation from God that we should abstain from use of Tobacco, Alcohol, Coffee, Tea, and Illegal Drugs. This is called the Word of Wisdom. By following this, we are more fully able to keep our bodies healthy and strong and receive blessings from God. Scientific discoveries have also reaffirmed that those substances are harmful to the human body. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Sara Jane
We believe that families are the most important thing in this life, next to the gospel. We also believe that family relationships can last for forever. Isn't that comforting to know that when a loved one passes on, you will be able to see them again? In "The Family: A Proclamation to the World", our beliefs about families are discussed in greater detail. Show more Show less
