Hi I'm Colby Butler

I grew up in Idaho Falls. I'm also serving in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission. Yep, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Compass Academy High School in Idaho Falls. Compass Academy is not your normal high school, it is a new tech school. And what is very special about graduating from this school is my class was the very first class to graduate. I loved this school because of the different culture I felt when I walked into the door. Going to this school has taught me to be more social and to not be afraid of presenting in front of an audience. I have been singing and acting since I was in 1st grade. I have participated in as many plays/musicals as I can in my community. I have been in a total of 27 performances. And I am only 20! I love my life, family, and friends! And I am so grateful for the gospel. Which is why I am serving a mission on the best place on earth, the NHMM!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a Mormon home I was able to strive to be as perfect as Jesus Christ. My parents have taught me ever since I was little about the gospel and showing me what is good and what is bad. I am so grateful to have this example to me because it is the type of father I want to be. This is why I am a Mormon. I love the gospel and take the topic of family seriously into my heart. I love my father in heaven and I want to make him happy when I see him again.

How I live my faith

Since being a member of this church I have been able to express who I am and how I want to live my life, and I can do this by how I live my faith. I show how I live my faith by the callings that I have received. A big calling I had was to be the first assistant to the bishop. I show how I live my faith by being an active member of the church and by doing my priesthood duties. I am also involved in hometeaching, where I can share lessons to family members in my ward. What I love about hometeaching is that it has really helped me become more prepared for my two year mission in New Hampshire.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Colby Butler
In a simple answer, no. Mormons not only help those who are not Mormon, but we also support those who are not Mormon. Through our helping in humanitarian aid. More than 60,000 Mormon missionaries are serving in the world today. These missionaries serve the lord and what serving the lord means is that they act the way Jesus Christ did when he was on the Earth. Loving and caring for anyone who may have problems. Missionaries are also people who answer any questions concerning the gospel. I am so excited to be one of these missionaries and serve and love everyone I come in contact with Show more Show less
