Hi I'm Craig Starkey

I grew up in Ohio. I am the 2nd oldest of 4 boys. My wife and I have 3 wonderful kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For the first 18 years of my life, I lived in the same town and graduated from high school with the kids I knew since kindergarten. After leaving home to attend college at BYU, I've had the opportunity to live in 7 states and 1 foreign country (Taiwain). I am married and have 3 wonderful children. I enjoy playing basketball, golf and running. I was fortunate to be raised in a home with 3 brothers and parents that encouraged us to play sports. My family and I love exploring new places and finding the next big "weekend adventure". We love to be outside and spending time together.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Lord's church because of the peace and joy it brings to my life. Even though I was born and raised as a Mormon, I didn't "automatically" know the gospel was true. Like many others, I had doubts and concerns throughout my life, but I have come to know my Savior through prayer, scripture study and service. Coming to a realization that the gospel is true, didn't happen overnight for me. It wasn't one single event, but it was a process over time. I had the wonderful opportunity to serve a 2 year mission in Taiwan. During this time, I was able to share the gospel with people who weren't familiar with Jesus Christ and knew very little about Christianity. The more I talked about the Savior, the more I knew he is real and that he loves each and every one of us. I have seen many blessing come into my life because I have choosen to follow Jesus Christ. Through service and caring for other people's needs beyond our own, we can be more like Him. I know he loves me and my family and that if I continue to try to be like Him each day, I can one day return to live with Him and my family for eternity.

How I live my faith

I am involved in many different service activities in our church. Whether it's teaching the young children or helping someone move in or out of their house, I have the opportunity to interact with a lot of great people that help make me a better person. Every time I feel like I'm helping or serving someone else, I realize that they have helped me much more than I have helped them.
