Hi I'm Kimberlee

Born and raised in Sin City, but a total country girl at heart. I'm an introvert and a dreamer, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I guess I just never grew up (and I plan to keep it that way). I'll love Disney movies and wishing on dandelions until the day I die. I love the words "once upon a time" and I don't think my imagination is going to turn off any time soon. I love to express my imagination with writing and art. I'm an explorer, constantly wanting to learn and try new things, so I always have a new hobby (painting, acting, playing guitar, ceramics, horseback riding, hiking, student government, reading, writing poetry, etc.). Like a two year old, I can get excited over any little new thing. At the same time, I'm an old soul. I love time alone to just think, and I obsess over grand ideas, from the concept of love and romance to Einstein's special theory of relativity. In conversations with big groups, I love to sit back and listen. I see the good in the world and in everyone I come across. I watch and learn from the experiences of others so I don't make the same mistakes myself. I am exceptional at exerting the least amount of energy as possible, and I've found grudges and worrying over little setbacks and nuisances far too boring to waste my time on. I may have grown up in Las Vegas, but I'm a total country girl at heart. I prefer a laid-back but meaningful life. I feel way more comfortable in the saddle than in the driver's seat, and would rather pick horses' hooves than shop for new clothes. I am currently attending college, majoring in Psychology and Equine studies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church, but I am not one to accept something as fact just because someone I respect told me it was. I am a Mormon because I know that God loves me. I know this because Heavenly Father answers our prayers. I have prayed to Him, and the peace, safety and love I feel when I pray tells me that He is real and is listening to me because he loves me. I know that because he loved me, he wouldn't leave me alone. He has given us his word through modern-day prophets, just like prophets in the Bible, and through the scriptures like the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I know that the Book of Mormon is a book, like the Bible, that God has provided to help us know He is always there. I know for a FACT that no one can read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is is true, having faith in Christ and really wanting to know if it is true, and not receive an answer for themselves that it is truly a book of God and this truly is God's church. I am a Mormon because I believe in Christ, and I believe that this is the same church that Christ established on the earth, restored in these latter days through a modern prophet. I am a Mormon because this church makes me want to be better: kinder, more understanding, more generous, more knowledgable, more selfless, more charitable, and more Christlike. I am a Mormon because God has proven to me over and over again that when I keep the commandments and guidelines of the church, He will bless me and those around me. I am a Mormon because I needed to learn how to sacrifice to fulfill my full potential. I am a Mormon because I need God's light to guide me, and I have His light when I follow Him. Basically, I need to be a Mormon because I am weak, and I need God's strength.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I try my hardest to be a good Christian. I try to be a peacemaker where ever I go. I love everyone regardless of their choices, and try to listen to all sides of a story when someone's viewpoint differs from mine. I honor the promise I made to my Heavenly Father when I was baptized that I would try to comfort and lift those around me when they are down. Throughout my life in the church, I've had opportunities to serve at a home for the elderly, a soup kitchen, washing graffiti downtown, and serving others in my congregation. In the young single adult congregation I attended at school, I led the music for the hymns sung during Sunday meetings. I am preparing to serve a full time mission for my church. I will leave home for a year and a half to serve people and preach the gospel of Christ's church over a thousand miles away, without any visits from family or friends during that time, and I am absolutely so blessed with the opportunity to do so!
