Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in Wyoming, I love the outdoors and exploring all god's wonderful creations. I am a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in the church, I love to spend my time outdoors, doing anything from hunting, fly fishing to just hiking to places that not very many people have seen. In high school I was a diver for our swimming and diving team. It was a lot of commitment and tons of fun! I am going on a mission to Texas for two years and am extremely excited for that! Then after that, I am going to come home and go to college for 8 years to become an optometrist.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the exact same gospel that Jesus himself taught when he was on this earth. I know that after his death on the cross he was resurrected on the third day, and appeared to his disciples. He appeared to them and asked them to continue teaching his gospel to the earth. And they did so; they went about preaching this true gospel and where persecuted for it. They were even killed for teaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ. When they all were killed the priesthood power or (the power of god to work miracles and preform ordinance's like baptism) was lost and not passed down. God wanted to give his children that he loved another chance to accept his true gospel. So in the 1800 through a humble, non-educated 14 year old farm boy, he restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ. He brought back the priesthood power by the laying on of hands of Peter, James, and John; who were the Disciples of Christ back in the days when Christ lived and bestowed the priesthood power upon them. They appeared to this boy when he was older and as angels of glory sent from God himself; laid their hands his head and brought the lord’s power to work miracles and preform sacred ordinances like baptism back to this earth. This I know to be true because I have read the Book of Mormon which is proof that this is true. Then I found out from God himself. I humbly knelt down and prayed to ask if things are true. I received an answer to my prayer through the Holy Spirit’s prompting. I know that this is all true and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In my church right now, I am a leader of a group of boys my age. My duty is to keep them focused on living to the best of their ability by going to church on Sunday and living the way the savior would want us to live. To do this I must first be living that way myself. So in keeping myself spiritually and physically clean, I can help others do the same and be closer to our father in heaven. Another really great way I have found to live my faith is to read my scripters daily and to actively study them for a specific topic. Also, praying; to pray every morning and night will bring anyone closer to our father in heaven.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Tyler
Yes the Bible is the word of God and should be studied as such. But it can be interpreted differently by different people so we cross reference it with the Book of Mormon to discern the true meaning of the sacred words written in it. Show more Show less
