Hi I'm Janaye

Born in Cali but raised in Utah, I love to learn and grow. I love dance and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love learning! There is nothing I enjoy more than having someone share what they love to do with me. People are so interesting, and when they share what they love, you can see their passion sparking in their eyes. I have just graduated with my Associates degree in Business Entrepreneurship, and plan to continue my education. I grew up dancing and teaching dance, which is another part of who I am. Music holds a special place in my heart, because of dance, but also just because I love to listen to it. I think that music and art (including dance) can speak to people in ways that words never can, and that is one reason I love it. I have a big family and I love them dearly. I have been so blessed to grow up in a close knit family, and to live near many of them. I have had the opportunity to travel quite a bit, and I love to see other places and people and share in their cultures. Trying different kinds of foods is the best! So that me...in a nutshell!

Why I am a Mormon

The restored gospel of Jesus Christ brings an eternal happiness to my life. It completes everything I know about who I am, why I am here, and where I am going. God is merciful to us, and wants us to return to live with Him. Because of that, He has restored the fullness of His gospel to this earth, and I feel so blessed to have it part of my life. The power of God is on the earth today, held by worthy men, and called the Priesthood. I have felt the blessing that this power is, and the incredible miracles that come through it. The Book of Mormon is my strength. It brings calm and clarity to my day, and seems to smooth out any rough patches in it. It testifies of Christ, and the truth that it contains is priceless. The eternal nature of the family is a principle that continues to strengthen my faith. I am very close to my family, and the knowledge that I will get to be with them forever is one of the sweetest things that I could ever have. The comfort and guidance this knowledge brings me is something that I would not want to live without. I want to share with all the world this gift of the truth, which brings me so much joy. No one should be miserable, and through Christ, all can find peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

Helping students find housing is something I have been able to do the last few months. When people had openings in their apartment, or where looking for a place they would come to me and I would connect them to each other. About a year ago I was able to be in charge of organizing weekly events, which was such a learning experience! I met so many wonderful people, and was able to find people who would share their talents with our group. I now have the wonderful opportunity to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am inspired by the people around me who stand up for what they believe in, no matter the circumstances. They help me want to be my best self, which brings me closer to my Father in Heaven.
