Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a teenager from High Point North Carolina. I love my family and friends. I'm an older brother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to wonderful parents in Utah shortly before they moved to the great state of North Carolina where I've lived pretty much my whole life. I love playing Baseball and Basketball, and just about any other sport. I enjoy playing disc golf and doing just about anything else outside on a nice day. I've been called to serve as a missionary in the California Los Angeles mission where I'll preach the gospel to God's children there. When I get home I will be attending Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. I love to read good books, fiction and non-fiction. I have a younger brother and a younger sister.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) is for EVERYONE. But that doesn't mean everyone will have the same reasons for being there. I was born into the church, and while that's a big part of it, that's not the main reason I'm a member. I'm a Mormon because as a teenager I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to Heavenly Father to know for my self, from him, if it was true. I don't know the Book of Mormon is true because my parents told me it was, or because some leader told me it was; I know the Book of Mormon truly is the word of God because he told me it was. That knowledge is the most important thing in my life. I'm a Mormon because God told me it was where I needed to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways both big and small. I live my faith by going to church every sunday. I live my faith by attending early morning scripture study on weekdays. I live by faith by studying the scriptures independently every night and praying every morning and night. I live my faith by volunteering to serve at elementary schools with under-privaliged children. I live my faith by being respectful to my mother and father. I live my faith by being an example of righteousness in a world filled with so much evil. I live my faith by looking for opportunities to serve others. I will be living my faith by serving a two year mission for the lord to help bring the joys of the gospel to others.I live my faith by striving everyday to show Heavenly Father and Jesus how much I love them and that I'm willing to follow them.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormons believe that when Jesus was on the earth he established His Church and called Apostles. After His death, people persecuted the Apostles and killed them, and God was forced to take the Priesthood, or the authority to act in His name, off the earth, and the true church with it. Over time the truths of the Gospel became distorted, and while every church has some truth, none have it all, and none have God's authority. Then in 1820, Joseph Smith prayed, and was called by God to restore His Church on the earth. That Church, which had the fullness of the Gospel and God's authority is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon). Show more Show less
