Hi I'm Zach

I love my family, and friends. I'm a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing and watching sports. Football is my favorite sport and my favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I love playing basketball and my favorite basketball team is the Utah Jazz. I also love watching rugby. It is a very intense and fun sport. I enjoy playing chess. In high school I was on my school's speech and debate team and I really enjoyed speech and debate. I love learning in all aspects. I enjoy science a lot. I enjoy playing all kinds of video games. I love spending time with my friends and family. I love hiking and learning about mountains is a large passion of mine. One of my favorite things in the world is Mt. Everest. I want to go and see it someday and maybe even climb it. I am going to serve a mission for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in this church but I have made a decision on my own that I need to stay in this church. It helps me to be happy in life and this gospel has blessed me in so many ways. It has given me physical and intellectual strength. I have been able to accomplish many things with help from my Heavenly Father that I wouldn't have been able to do without His help. This Gospel has made me more selfless and a much better person. I am also more confident because of it. The Gospel helps me build a relationship with God and His son Jesus Christ. This is extremely important to me and I want to maintain that relationship greatly. I know that the Gospel is true. Jesus Christ is at the head of this church. I know that when Jesus was alive on the earth he lived a perfect life, performed miracles, and He organized His church. Most importantly, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice by atoning for us and giving his life in order to help us overcome sin and death. I know that Christ overcame death and was resurrected and because of this we can live again also. I know that Jesus restored his gospel through His prophet Joseph Smith. That restored Gospel lives on and is currently lead by Thomas S. Monson, who is a true prophet. I know that my family loves me, that Heavenly Father and Jesus love me, and that this knowledge and obedience to God and Jesus is the best way to attain joy in this life. I am grateful for all of this, and all of this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in the LDS Church in many ways. All throughout my youth I was involved in many leadership positions. I have been Deacons quorum secretary and president, Teachers quorum 2nd counselor and president, and Priests quorum secretary and 1st Assistant. In all of these positions I attended many meetings and gave many lessons for my quorum. As a Teacher I became a home teacher with my father, where I visited a few families in my ward to become friends with them and to make sure that they are doing ok physically, mentally and spiritually. As a youth in the LDS church, I have attended many youth activities. These happen weekly and many times they involve multiple day activities.

What are Mormon temples used for?

Zach
In the House of the Lord, or Temple, faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ are close to God. We learn of God and Jesus Christ. We increase our spiritual knowledge. Most importantly, we learn about eternal families, and we perform sacred ordinances that allow families to live together forever. Through the temple, God's children can return and live with him, and they can live with those they love most, throughout all eternity. Temples bring Joy and Salvation to God's children.
