Hi I'm Tom

I was born in South America and raised in Europe. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Who am I and what do I do? I am Tom! I am in my final year of sixthform studying mathematics while I am getting ready to serve a mission to which I will be departing at the end of this summer, exciting I know. I love sports in general, but prefer rugby over all others which is the activity I have most enjoyed doing ever since I was a little kid. I am planning to go into further studies at university but first comes my mission! I am the eldest of 3 and I am looking forward to dive into the "grown-ups" world (something some of you might consider naive) even though it sounds extremely childish I would rather see it as an optimistic actitude.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, something I am very happy about. As I grew older I began to truly learn the doctrines of this gospel. I am very grateful for all the blessings which have come to my life through the teachings and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon contains the truths necessary to live this life with the most happiness it can possibly provide. I know the fullness of the gospel has been restored and that Joseph Smith was the prophet through whom the Lord has accomplished so. Families can be eternal, I am sealed to my parents and my parents are sealed to theirs, once I marry, I will be sealed to my wife and children and one day we will all be together for eternity.

How I live my faith

I love all the activities this church organizes in order to help it's members create bonds of friendship between each other. As a recent member of the youth I would say that I cannot imagine a better place to be. It's not just fun to participate but also to be involved in the preparation of the activities, watching how others rejoice out of the things which you and your fellow leaders have done is very rewarding. My current call in the church is as an instructor, a helper and a teacher during one of the lessons carried out during the Sunday's meetings.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. It is the same authority that existed in the original Church established by Jesus Christ. The church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is directed and led through his authority. All male members who are ready to receive the priesthood will do so, and through it's authority we are able, if righteous, to bless the sick, hold a position as a leader in the church and perform the ordinances of Christ such as baptism.
