Hi I'm Jake Conlin

I grew up in Louisiana, love sports and music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated high school and will soon leave to serve a full-time two year mission. I was drum major in my school's marching band and made the all-state honor band on trombone. I write music and sing/play in a number of local rock groups. I enjoy running and basketball. I am an eagle scout. I am the fourth of seven children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family but that isn't why I am a Mormon. I was not born with a testimony. Through growing up, studying the scriptures, and praying, I have come to know through the Spirit that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and the true path to eternal happiness. I love the peace this gospel provides and the unity it creates within families. I have felt the healing power of the atonement and can not wait to help others feel the same. I know that Jesus lives and leads his church through a prophet today. Heavenly Father has not left us. He is the same God now as He was in the days of old. All He wants is us to be happy.

How I live my faith

For the past four years, I have waken up at 5 o'clock to attend early morning seminary before school. Soon I will serve a two year mission where I will provide service and invite all to come closer unto Christ. I actively encourage my friends to be the best they can be and try to make everyone I meet smile even if that means just sharing my smile with them.
