Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon, but came from an inactive Mormon family. I became active in college, because I read the inspired Book of Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm a mother of six children and six grandchildren. I love being a mother and grandmother. I am very active in my community. I own and operate a pet boarding and grooming business, plus teach Tai Chi at our local community hospital for stress reduction. I have a Masters in Psychology and enjoy helping people find various ways to reduce tension in their lives. I enjoy all outdoor sports. My favorite outdoor activity is" white water rafting" on the Lochsa River, and the Payette River in Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I received a witness from the Holy Spirit that the book I was reading really was an inspired book. The Book of Mormon brought me closer to know my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ more that any other book I had read. Coming from an inactive family with no active family members in this Church, I was actively seeking a religion to join. I felt like there was something missing in my young college life. I literally started to investigate other religions on my college campus. My sweet college roommate encouraged me to look into the religion I had been baptized into at age eight. I took a class on the Book of Mormon off campus at the Institute of Religion. I found the Book of Mormon to be a witness that Jesus is the Christ, our Redeemer, the Savior of the world. As I read the book, I became closer to my Lord and discovered that the Book of Mormon supported the Bible, and that the two are witness for each other. I love the Book of Mormon and I am forever grateful to my college roommate for encouraging me to investigate my own religion along with the other religions.

How I live my faith

Our church give everyone the opportunity to serve their neighbors, friends and other members in their community. Women in this church belong to a world wide women's organization that helps us serve people in our community such as: lonely elderly, new mothers, new move-ins, the sick or other wise afflicted. I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve in this great women's organization, and have learned to love people from all backgrounds. I have also served in the children's organization and young women's organization of the church. These programs give our youth direction and protection from the bombardment of the ill fated choices of society. My husband and I have recently been called as "Full Time Missionaries" for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We have the privilege of living in our home and serving the Lord in the mission field here in our home state. In 2006, we served a full time mission in Yekaterinburg, Russia. We love being missionaries, and hope that we can help people come unto Christ and love Him as we do.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Linda
My witness of the Book of Mormon is listed in detail in my personal profile. I love the Book of Mormon and attribute the Book of Mormon to my personal conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Through the Book of Mormon I have become closer to my Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I love the Savior and the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon supports the Bible, and I also love to read the inspired words in the Holy Bible. The two books go hand in hand and support each other. Show more Show less
