Hi I'm Mackenzie Kirts

I love music, kids, singing off key, adventures, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 21 year old student at BYU provo. I played soccer at BYUH for two years and loved it. I have always been a member but it took a hard fall to truly understand why i love the church. I never in a million years thought that i would be going on a mission, but here i am, in Edmonton Canada serving as a representative of the LDS church. I love my family, my friends, music, adventures, running, farmers markets, and pretty much life in general.

Why I am a Mormon

Once i begame a teenager I found it very hard to follow the rules of the church and i became extremely discouraged when it came to the gospel. I turned away from the church and chose to attend blindly without feeling. I got accepted to play soccer at BYUH and went because of the scholarship. I finally decided to give the church a true attempt. I remember a friend called me and told me he was picking me up in 10 minutes to take me to a church meeting. Going to this meeting was the last thing on my mind but i chose to go anyways. At that meeting i realized that i was happy for the first time in a long time. I spent so much time trying to push God away when he was the one person i really needed to talk to. I had made alot of mistakes in my past and i knew that i needed to repent of what i had done. I can honestly say that i have never felt so much love from my savior. He truly loves us and wants us to come to him in prayer. I had such a heavy weight liften off of my shoulders. I truly grew a testimony and became a Mormon when i felt like i had no one to turn to, and God became my constant. I honestly felt his love and his hand in every aspect of my life. He has brought amazing people into my life who have taught me lessons i will never forget. I have so much to thank him for which is why i chose to repay him by serving a mission for 18 months. This will be the greatest honor that i will hold and i cannot wait for the many adventures that my Heavenly Father has in store for me.

How I live my faith

I love life in general and i choose to live my faith by attributing all good things to the work of God. He is amazing and loves each and everyone of us individually. When i look at all that God has given me thorughout my life, it is so hard to dismiss his work in my life. He is constantly there and because of this, i choose to give and do what i can in order to thank him whether it is going to church meetings, helping members of the ward, or being an example, i do what i can do be the best that God enables me to be.
