Hi I'm Grayson

I am from a small town in Iowa and am a student at Iowa State University studying Materials Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Iowa State University and am studying Materials Engineering. I just finished my second year and am about to go on a mission to Comayaguela Honduras. I was introduced to the church nearly 2 years ago and was baptized about a year and a half ago. In the past I have gone on many mission/volunteer trips around America and also Central America. Last summer I spent 3 weeks in Nicaragua helping to build a school for a community on the Northwest border of the country. My experiences helping others have been so important and life changing to me. They have played a vital role in me serving a mission for the church. I really enjoy biking, swimming, running, and being outdoors. I have participated in RAGBRAI (a bike ride across Iowa) 4 times and plan to do more after my mission. I really enjoy throwing pots on pottery wheels. I also have a huge passion for programming! I can spend hours upon hours working on a project that really interests and challenges me.

Why I am a Mormon

During my Junior year in high school I started dating a member of the church. In the summer we were both going to be heading different directions with me going to college in Iowa and her planning on graduating from high school early to go to BYU Provo. She felt very strongly that I needed to have the gospel in my life so she gave me a Book of Mormon with a special message on the back side of the front page. After I read it all the way through I started meeting with missionaries and taking investigator lessons. I left for school before I was baptized and for a while I stopped meeting with missionaries. I did keep reading the book though and after sometime I really wanted to meet with the missionaries again. I never contacted them though, they got in touch with me at just the right time and we finished the lessons. At the beginning of my second semester I was baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After reading the whole book and personally searching for the truth of this church I have found the answer so clearly. I know that this church is The church of Christ. I am very grateful for my knowledge

How I live my faith

I was called to serve as a ward missionary. I live my faith by helping the missionaries in my area teach. I also live my faith by following my beliefs and acting with those beliefs in mind always. I am about to go on a mission for the church to give to others the same blessing that has been given to me. In that time I will be living my faith every minute of every day.
