Hi I'm Robyn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town where I was able to play freely, once my work was done, pretty much anywhere I could run to. It was a free and adventurous childhood. I loved pretending and exploring. I wanted to be an archaeologist and a mom. I wasn't sure if I could be both and I didn't think to ask. I chose to be a mom. It's the best decision I've ever made. Being a mom has involved enough adventure to last me forever! It's the hardest work I've ever done, and the most satisfying. Yes, it is the most frustrating and demanding also. I'm positive I wasn't the best mom, but I'm positive I wasn't the worst mom either. Luckily I learned to get out and have my own hobbies and 'self time' too. That was when I sang, made quilts, built wood puzzles, painted, sewed clothes, played video games, built bunk beds, made porcelain dolls, crocheted, refinished furniture, made jewelry, designed fashions and decorated homes and taught aerobics and music.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into a Mormon family. But being born into the faith wasn't enough to keep going to church. I had amazing talks with my Heavenly Father in prayer. I asked Him if the church was true, if he was real, if he loved me, if he knew my sorrows, fears, pain and sufferings. Sometimes He answered immediately with a wonderful warmth in my heart or a voice in my head. Sometimes He didn't tell me anything, but he put people or events in my path that truly were answers to specific questions I had asked. There are some things that I'm still waiting to get answered. The trick of it is....I know I have to be faithful, hopeful and very patient then I will receive my answers. I have wondered from time to time if it was just my own thoughts or coincidences that came to me instead of God's answers for me. I even had occasions that I doubted and wanted to change my course in life. The problem with that was always my deep love for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, His son. I know this life on earth is like a dot of time in the eternal scheme of things. I can do what the Lord wants me to do for a 'dot' so that I can enjoy being with Jesus for eternity. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords church on earth. His priesthood authority is restored. He directs his church with Apostles and Prophets. They hold all the keys of the priesthood. I love being a part of God's church. I love the people, I love its teachings. I am truly happy!

How I live my faith

I was so blessed to be a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I loved that experience and I got to travel with them to Europe. It was one of the highlights of my life. I have been just as blessed to direct many choirs over the years. I love music and I've been grateful for the gift of directing, singing and teaching music for many years. I have also been able to teach the youth, and occasionally adults, the wondrous greatness of the Lord's gospel. That really is the best part of my life, the Lord's gospel. I love the Lord and His Gospel!
