Hi I'm Jamie

I have grown up as a small town farm girl, from Huntington, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family and I raise many animals and crops. These include a few, goats, cows, horses, turkeys, and chickens. On the farm I help feed animals, haul hay and change wheel-line sprinklers. In the fall of 2014 I went to my first year of college. I took general classes hoping I would find an occupation to pursue. Recently I decided to go on a mission, I have been called to share the gospel with the people of Pocatello, Idaho. I'm not going far from home but I know it is where I am suppose to be, I am super excited to bring people the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was eight years old, I decided to be baptized. I knew, even at that young of an age, that the church was true. I have always loved going to church, I love learning and what I feel when I am there. I remember being newly baptized and trying to read the Book of Mormon by myself. Even though I didn't understand much or it at that age, I knew it was true. Now I am older, I still realize when I read the Book of Mormon and pray I feel so good, the day goes much smoother. When I forget to do either of those, I can tell right off. The good feeling I would have had goes away. Because of this, I know that the Book of Mormon is true. Even reading just a few verses makes me much happier. I know the stories in it are given to us so we can learn and grow. We can relate the stories to our lives they help us with whatever trials we are going through. I also have a testimony of prayer. I know its simple, but prayer ALWAYS works, if you believe it will. One time during my high school days, I was very busy. I had a track meet later in the day. I was trying to get my things together before I left but I couldn't find my jersey anywhere. I said a quick prayer asking for help finding my jersey. As soon as I had finished I opened my eyes and there it was, right in front of me! I know Heavenly father answers all prayers, even if they are super simple and may not seem that important, YOU are important to him, so therefore things that are important to you, are important to him! I know Joseph Smith really did translate the Book of Mormon. I know that we have prophets on earth today. Just like prophets in the Bible and Book of Mormon, they receive revelation specific to our struggles to help guide us. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I currently have a mission call to the Pocatello, Idaho Mission. I will have special training and then go to Idaho in June 2015. I will teach people principles and answer questions about our church. Before I decided to go on a mission. While at college I taught a class of college students how to do family history. I helped them work a website called Family Search to learn more about their ancestors. Another calling I had,(this one was in high school) was for Seminary council. Seminary is a class students can take in high school that teaches them about the gospel. I was on a committee with 5 others. We planned events like early morning devotionals, service projects and challenges for students.
