Hi I'm Jessica

I like adventuring, I love to laugh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to go hiking, swimming, floating, and just plain adventuring anywhere in south-east Idaho. I'm a big fan of BYU football, and I love going to football games. Netflix is the best, because it let's me watch The Office and Parks and Recreation as much as I want. I'm going to college to become an Elementary School teacher. I'm going to be a missionary for the Knoxville, Tennessee mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always believed that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was Christ's true church. I was raised going to church every week. Both of my parents were very active in my religion, and taught me from a young age that Heavenly Father loves me, Jesus Christ atoned for my sins, and that God answers prayers. Through their example, and the examples of church leaders, neighbors, and friends, I came to realize that I love this church so much. It is a huge part of my life, and I honestly don't know where I would be without it. I love being a Mormon, and I can't imagine not being a member of my church. My church makes me incredibly happy. The people in my church help me to see my potential, and they help me be my best self. I feel so much peace and happiness whenever I attend church meetings or go to the temple. I'm a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that they helped him translate the Book of Mormon, and that it's a true record. I know that it's another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that He not only atoned for my sins, but He atoned for everyone's sins. We couldn't be saved without His grace, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't do all that we can do. I know that keeping God's commandments make us the happiest we can possibly be, and that keeping the commandments help us feel peace. My family gives me the highest level of happiness, and I'm so grateful for them. I know all of these things because I've prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked him direct, specific questions, having real intent. He has always answered my prayers, even if His answers aren't always what I expect. I know that Heavenly Father loves me, and everyone, way more than we can possibly comprehend. Because Heavenly Father loves us so much, he has given us this gospel to help us become our best selves, and reach our potential.

How I live my faith

I have gone to church basically once a week for my entire life. When I was a teenager, I would go to activities on Tuesday nights with other youth from my ward. We would play games to get to know each other better, do service activities, and give uplifting messages. In college, I would go to classes that were offered at my college twice a week where I learned more about the LDS faith and learned ways about how I can become a better Mormon and a better person. I would also go to occasional activities that were held were I could meet other young adult singles that went to the same college as me. My faith is my life. I love being able to go to church once a week. I love being able to go to activities my church has, especially service activities. My faith has made me a better person.
