Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Ogden, Utah. I'm serving as a missionary in southern Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. I return to America in April.

About Me

I grew up in Vancouver, Washington, and then moved to Utah between 6th and 7th grade of school. My interests and education mainly include videos and movies (really anything with a camera), cars, especially modifying cars, and computer programming. I'm currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Alpine German Speaking Mission (Southern Germany, all of Austria, and most of Switzerland). I return to America in the middle of April. I want to persue an education and career in computer science.

Why I am a Mormon

Through my own experiences, I've come to know this church is true. I know God has a plan for me and that I've been preserved through hardship for some purpose. I'm a mormon and I know this church is true. I live it and I love it.

How I live my faith

I've spent the last 23 months sharing the gospel with the people I meet. I study the scriptures daily, especially the Book of Mormon and I always try to find new things. Prayer and church attendance play a regular and critical role in my life.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Jordan
The first reason for any question concerning the Church of Jesus Christ's function and organization is that Jesus Christ commands it to be so. Jesus Christ leads this church and tells us through his prophets how things should run. Besides this, we can look in the New Testament and the Book of Mormon for answers. In the New Testament, any money that the leaders of Christ's church (i.e. the apostles) received went to helping the church grow and the gospel be preached. It did not go into the Apostles' pockets for their own use. Even the apostle Paul worked as a tent maker (Acts 18:3). In the Book of Mormon the church of God is first set up over a hundred years before Christ came and it was always taught and made clear that no teachers or priests should receive pay or income (Mosiah 18:24). We listen to the voice of the prophet to know the will of God and to know of any changes to accomidate special situations. I'm thanksful to have a prophet again on the earth. Show more Show less
