Hi I'm Katie

I love the great outdoors, getting messy in the mud, and trying new things. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hey ya'll! My name is Katie and I am a country girl at heart. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Utah, but I sure do love cows and open land! I love doing outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, four-wheeling, you name it. I love music and play the piano, with a bit of clarinet, saxophone, harp, and guitar. I went to BYUI for two semesters which I loved SO SO much. I loved living in a small town!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a strong Mormon family, which gave me the opportunity and blessing to live in a home where important teachings and values were taught. I was taught in the ways of the gospel, but that didn't mean I didn't have to find out if they were true for myself. In order for me to know for myself that the LDS church is the only true church, I had to put that knowledge into action and try it out for myself. I gained a testimony of Jesus Christ by relying on him fully when I was going through my trials. I have suffered from OCD and anxiety ever since I was small, but through my trust and reliance on the Savior this burden has been made light and easier to deal with. I have felt his love and care throughout the hard times, and that is a major reason why I know he lives. He continues to live today, and he atoned for us so he could know how to take care of us during our hard times, and also to play the price for our sins. He died for all of us and rose from the dead so that we could also live again. He did it for me, he did it for you. The atonement is so individual and can truly change your life. I know that the guilt you feel from past mistakes can be washed away if you turn to the Savior and ask for forgiveness. Being a Mormon makes me so very happy! I love knowing that I can be with those I love forever, even after death. Our Heavenly Father loves us all so very much!

How I live my faith

Living my faith to me has always meant reaching out to others in service. My ward has always been very service oriented, so I have had plenty of opportunities to serve there. I volunteered at a hospital for a bit, and also at a care center where I played/helped the elderly play bingo, and just got to know them. It is in serving and interacting with others as the Savior would that I have found my greatest joy. This is a huge reason why I decided to serve a full-time mission, and I've been called to the Farmington New Mexico Mission! I am very excited to spread and share the good news of the gospel that makes me so very happy and full of hope in this life.
