Hi I'm Jessie Carlson

I love to sing. I love to sign. I love to laugh! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah with a family of six. We're all pretty musical, each playing his or her own instrument. For me, I LOVE TO SING! I can take my voice with me anywhere I go! :D I'm also really passionate about American Sign Language (ASL). I think singing and signing can be seen as polar opposites, yet in my mind they are quite similar. The two languages are the most expressive ways of communicating I've ever come across. I spent a lot of my time in high school with the drum-line, choir, and ASL club. Recently I finished my first year of college. With that said I am now leaving my school, family, and friends to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church watching and learning from the examples of my parents, siblings, and ward family members. I don't think there was ever one moment in time when I suddenly knew the truth for myself. It took a long time, a growing process so to speak. But little by little I developed my own testimony of this church until it became a huge strength for me. I cannot deny the things I've felt and the answers I have received from my Heavenly Father. I know now without a doubt that this is the true church placed upon the earth again by the prophet Joseph Smith. Anyone can find out for themselves the truth by reading the very book Joseph Smith translated. The Book of Mormon has found it's way into my heart and my daily life. I don't know where I would be without it and this gospel. Now all I want to do is share it with others :)

How I live my faith

For now, I'm trying to walk the path the Savior walked by inviting others to come unto Christ. It's an exciting yet frightening responsibility. But even though that's how one lives every day as a missionary, I hope to be able to invite others for the rest of my life. The Savior's Atonement has made me happier than anything else in this world. All I can do is open my mouth and proclaim the things I know to be true hoping others will gain a relationship with our Heavenly Father and brother, Jesus Christ.
