Hi I'm Hannah

I am a college student. I am a future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am taking a break from College in Salt Lake City Utah, to prepare to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am the oldest of two girls in my family. I love to read, I love to study ASL (American Sign Language) and Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. Over my life I have come closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ, through the church. Because I have been blessed to be a member of the church my whole life, I have had countless events that have testified to me the truthfulness of the gospel. Having a testimony of this church has helped me through some very difficult trials in my life and I know I would not be the same person today without it. I know that the church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and will bring us closer to the Savior by studying it and living by its teachings. I know that Joseph was a prophet of God and that he helped to restore the gospel. I know that we have a living prophet and apostles who guide us and give us direction today. How I live my faith

I attend church services every Sunday afternoon with young adults in college just like me or with my family and other families that live nearby. I work with the young women (girls 12-18) to complete a church organized personal growth and achievement program. I also attend activities every Monday night where we spend time together whether we build Gingerbread houses near Christmas, or play ultimate frisbee or volleyball in the spring. I also attend weekly scripture study classes with my friends.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Hannah
No. All worthy and able young men (18 or older) are strongly encouraged to serve a mission, but will not be punished if they choose not to. Young women, and Senior couples can also choose to serve a mission if they desire. The choice to serve a mission is completely voluntary and personal. If someone does choose to serve a mission it is at their own expense and they are not paid for their service. Show more Show less
