Hi I'm Dakodta

I'm a Mormon from a small community in Utah called Hideaway Valley. I'm a pilot and I'm getting ready to serve a mission.

About Me

I was raised, and still live, in a very small community in Utah called Hideaway Valley. I was homeschooled until high school where I went to a boarding school a few miles away. While in school I developed a few hobbies and talents that I still practice. I got interested in rock climbing and long boarding, and especially music and later aviation. I have been playing the guitar for about 7 years now and singing for 4 years. All those things are great but what I really like doing is flying. I earned my private pilot license in about 4 months right after I graduated high school and have flown all around the state and even to Nevada and Colorado. Right now I am preparing to serve a mission to Pape'ete Tahiti. I will speak French and Tahitian. I am very excited to be able to share the gospel and serve my Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were not active in the church. Early in my childhood they became active and have been ever since. They taught me about the gospel and Gods commandments and helped me to gain a testimony (or sure knowledge) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. When I was in my junior and senior year there were decisions I made that took me away from the church but with Gods help, I found my way back. I always knew the church was true but recently as I have been preparing to serve a mission, I have gained a much stronger testimony that God lives and that he loves everyone so much that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins and be resurrected so that we might live with him again someday.

How I live my faith

The biggest way that I am living my faith right now is by preparing to go on a mission. While on my mission I will have the opportunity to teach the people of Tahiti about the Lords church and invite others to come unto Christ. It will a physically and mentally demanding 2 years but I am excited to work hard and give people the knowledge I have so that they might have the joy and comfort that that knowledge brings.
