Hi I'm Russ

I grew up in Fruit Heights, Utah, USA. I am a retired accountant who loves working with his hands. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for more than 47 years. I have five children and fifteen grandkids. I enjoy manual skills such as wood working, metal working, anything mechanical and gardening. I have four siblings who all live nearby. I enjoy helping them whenever there is a need. All of my children live close by and I enjoy being with them and their children.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I was a Mormon because it was the faith of my parents. Now I am a Mormon because it is my faith in Jesus Christ. He is my savior and my friend. He has called others to teach me and expects me to pass those teaching on to others. He has called prophets in the past to teach his followers and he has called prophets in this time for the same purpose. He has given me scriptures in the past for guidance and edification. He has given me scriptures in this age for the same purpose. He has forgiven me my errors and, if I truly repent, I feel He will forgive me of my weaknesses in the future.

How I live my faith

I have always been active in my church, always willing to do what is asked of me. I like to serve my fellow beings no mater the age. I have served a full time church mission as a youth and enjoy telling others about my church. I have been involved with youth programs, both in teaching gospel principles and in assisting in activities.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Over the many years of its existence several individuals have attempted to translate the Bible. Those translations are subject to the particular individuals abilities, knowledge and background. Errors can exist and can mislead in any translation. The Bible is the Word of God, written by prophets of old. These writings guide us and give us knowledge and encouragement in life. The Book of Mormon, likewise written by prophets of old, support the Bible and help us understand more of the teaching of Christ. Together they form a body of scripture that clears the possibility of translation error. Show more Show less

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?
