Hi I'm Elora Penrod

I'm a Missionary serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission!

About Me

I converted to the church almost four years ago after being taught by Sister Missionaries! I am now serving in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Mission. I love this gospel and have seen my family grow closer together by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the Church almost 4 years ago when I was taught by Sister Missionaries. My family who were less active members at the time thought I could take the discussions and try to improve my life. I began taking lessons, the missionaries asked me to pray to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if The Book of Mormon was true. I asked Heavenly Father and received an answer the following Sunday at church that it is true. I was baptized on March 17, 2012 and the decision I made to do so has blessed my life everyday since then. I struggled immensely in the following year and I finally turned to the Gospel and began to read, more diligently, The Book of Mormon. I received peace and comfort that my trials would pass and things would get better. The Book of Mormon taught me how to overcome obstacles in my life and strengthen my faith in Christ and His Atonement. The love that I felt from God when reading The Book of Mormon transformed me and pushed me to want to be better. I studied hard and after finishing High School I started to prepare to serve a mission. After I submitted my application I saw the hand of the God in my life, helping my family, and softening hearts. I wanted so badly for my family to join me at church and slowly they gained their own testimonies of this Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I received my mission call to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and shortly before I left I was able to make covenants in the Temple and be sealed to my parents. My siblings have come back to church and have developed more fully their testimonies of Jesus Christ and His Gospel. They too are preparing to make covenants in the Temple that will bless them and their families forever. I continue to live this gospel and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ because I know it will lead to my happiness. He loves us and wants the very best for us in this life. He has given us the chance to learn His gospel through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and The Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by consciously having good thoughts about myself, others, my work, and my community. I think one of the best ways that we can live our faith is by making a choice to be happy in all we do! Leading by example and being a good presence in others lives helps me in my life as well. I am currently serving a mission and inviting others to learn and share about Jesus Christ and His Gospel. I have served in different callings but one of my favorites was serving in seminary during High School. I love serving the youth and studying the gospel with my peers. Before I began my service as a missionary I worked as a volleyball coach at the Jr. high and High School level, I absolutely love encouraging the youth to do their best and learn to work hard through sports. My ward or congregation has supported me in all I have done and I have learned that love and support is something we should give freely to others. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is set up in a perfect way where we can learn, teach, and help each other grow in our knowledge of Our Savior.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?
