Hi I'm Michael Blum

I grew up in North Salt Lake, Utah. I love math, physics, and computer technology. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I have an older sister who lives away from home and a younger brother. Most of my family is active in the LDS church. I have a strong interest in physics, mathematics, and computer science. I've been tinkering with computers since I was about six years old. I took an interest in mathematics in late elementary school, which later extended to physics in Junior High and High School. I'm majoring in Physics and minoring in Computer Technology. I'm hoping to someday get my Ph.D. I enjoy playing soccer, video games, card games; all manner of games really. I also enjoy reading, biking, and occasionally hiking. I'm currently serving in the Boston, Massachusetts mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have thus grown up around it. I've repeatedly challenged and questioned my faith recently and have come to the conclusion that this is the one and only true church on this Earth. I'm very grateful to be a part of it. Before entering the Missionary Training Center, I thought I had never felt the Spirit before. Now I know I feel the Spirit and His guidance every day of my life.

How I live my faith

Currently, the biggest way I'm living my faith is by preaching the gospel to those who live in the New England area. I share the gospel with others, whoever will hear our message of "glad tidings and great joy." We invite others to come unto Christ by helping receive the restored gospel.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Michael Blum
No, you are not required to serve a mission. Even though there is a history and somewhat of a tradition of missionary service in the church, the choice is ultimately up to the individual. Show more Show less
