Hi I'm Juanita

I was born in Mexico, move to United States at the age of 20, became a wife, a mother of 4 and I am a mormon!

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man who always makes me laugh, mother of 22 yr. old married college student, 21yr. old Missionary serving in Paris France, a 16yr. old who is in college and a 13yr. old who loves sports! I work outside the home as a service coordinator, love to dance therefore zumba is one of my favorite things to do also love reading and chatting with my family on whatsapp!!

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon in 1994. My religious background is catholic, in the catholic religion it is believe that little children need to be baptize when they are babies, it is a responsibility of the parents to do this and avoid the kids going to a not very good place in case of death. My husband and I were not agreeing on baptizing our 2 boys ages 1yr old and 4mo old, he wanted them to grow up and choose their own religion just as his father has done with them. My husband was visiting a mechanic who was a member of the church and the conversation of baptism came about, this member of the church ask him if he really wanted to know about baptism of course my husband said yes and he show him the following scriptute: Moroni 8 11 And their little children‍ need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission‍ of sins. 12 But little children‍ are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world; if not so, God is a partial God, and also a changeable God, and a respecter‍ to persons; for how many little children have died without baptism! 13 Wherefore, if little children could not be saved without baptism, these must have gone to an endless hell. 14 Behold I say unto you, that he that supposeth that little children need baptism is in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity; for he hath neither faith, hope, nor charity; wherefore, should he be cut off while in the thought, he must go down to hell. 15 For awful is the wickedness to suppose that God saveth one child because of baptism, and the other must perish because he hath no baptism. 16 Wo be unto them that shall pervert the ways of the Lord after this manner, for they shall perish except they repent. Behold, I speak with boldness, having authority‍ from God; and I fear not what man can do; for perfect love casteth out‍ all fear. After we read that we knew we needed to learn more about this book...and the rest is history!

How I live my faith

I serve in the committee for the women's organization at my church and love to help organize events and classes to help us all learn more about Jesus Christ. As a family we have a family night every week in which we just talk about our week, our activities and our concerns, we also have discussions about the gospel of Jesus Christ and this is an excellent way to learn together and share our feelings of gratitude, love and questions about the gospel. I have also been assigned to visit 3 ladies from our church and found out of any needs they may have, I just love to visit with them and share our experiences with our families and our success and struggles with daily life. I am so grateful for this program that allows me to make friend for live!

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Juanita
No. By becoming a Mormon I learned that "loving my neighbor" means helping who ever is in need of help! Jesus said "Inasmuch as ye have done it‍ unto one of the least‍ of these my brethren, ye have done it‍ unto me" We are taught to live this principle and practice it. The church has a fast Sunday in which we fast for 2 meals and donate the money we were going to spend on those meals to the church which is use to help the poor and the needy in our own country and different parts of the world. By practicing this every month now when I see someone in need I think about this scripture found in Mathew 25 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee?‍ or thirsty, and gave thee‍ drink? I have learned not to judge people but to judge myself and ask - Am I a righteous of the Lord? This gospel has brought so much peace and understanding to my life, I love it! I know I am not perfect but I know that by learning, understanding and following the teachings of Jesus Christ I am in the path to become better! I know that He lives and that he die so that I can live, I know that His gospel is true and I say this in His Holy name, even Jesus Christ... Amen! Show more Show less
