Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in Utah. I love playing sports and being outdoors! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up playing basketball and soccer. I love anything that involves being active or outdoors like mountain biking, boating, skiing, or hiking. I am a college student studying dietetics and am involved in research studying sports nutrition and physical activity in elementary schools. I love spending time with my family and supporting my siblings in whatever they do. We also love family trips together! I also enjoy playing the piano, reading, and cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but as a youth I began questioning if what my parents had taught me growing up was true. I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray and ask God to find out if it was true for myself. I didn't receive a onetime huge answer, but every single time I read from the Book of Mormon I felt a peace and my life was better. When I finished reading, I had a overwhelming peaceful feeling that this book is true. I know that as I have tried to live the teachings of the gospel, I have seen the blessings that come from it. I am so much happier. I don't have to wonder who I am or where I came from or what my purpose is. The gospel answers all those questions. Because of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I know that my family can be together forever and that there is so much more o this life. I never have to feel alone because I know I have a loving Heavenly Father who loves more than I can possible imagine. When I make mistakes in my life, I know that through Christ's Atonement, I can change and become better. The gospel has made me a new and better person and I know it can do the same for everyone who has the desire to change.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be kind and loving to everyone, no matter who they are. I try to see everyone as God's children and look past differences I might have with someone. I also pray, read my scriptures, and attend our church meetings so that I can grow closer to God. I try to listen to good music, watch good movies, and read uplifting books. I try to give my time and talents to my Heavenly Father. One of the biggest ways I am doing that right now is by serving a mission for the LDS faith. I will give a year and a half of my life to go and serve others. It's a sacrifice to put my school and life on hold and leave my family for that long, but I know it will be worth it.
