Hi I'm Sarah

I am a college graduate. I believe in God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a farming town in northern Nevada. I love being outside, playing piano, and reading. I especially love fantasy novels. (Brandon Sanderson, anybody?) I spent four years in college, including a study abroad in Jerusalem. Now I am serving a mission for the Church in Alabama.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the doctrines of the church are logically consistent. The Book of Mormon reaffirms truths taught in the Bible. Both books of scripture help me understand the world and my place in it. More than that, I am a Mormon because it feels right. When I read scriptures or listen to others speak about God, it resonates with something inside of me. I know this is God's church because I have studied and prayed and have learned for myself that this is true.

How I live my faith

In a physics class my first semester of college, the professor said "God is the God of all truth. Not only religious truth but all knowledge comes from God." I do not try to delineate my "secular" learning from my spiritual learning. Understanding astronomy and the laws of physics strengthens my belief that God created the universe. Knowing mathematics helps me to know there is a perfect, rational Being guiding us all. During college, I lived my faith by avoiding "college scene" activities like drinking that would weaken my connection with God. I attended church regularly, prayed, read scriptures, and had fun with my friends. A few weeks after graduation, I started a year and a half mission for the LDS church. Now, I spend everyday testifying of Jesus Christ. He is the Savior of the world. He wants everyone to come to Him. As I rely on Him and try to live as He did, He helps me in all aspects of my life. I know everyone can find peace and truth in Jesus Christ.
