Hi I'm Charlotte

I'm a Utah hiker. I'm an avid learner. I probably spend too much time listening to symphonies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is full of music. I love pop, jazz and show tunes but unlike most college students my favorite genera has to be classical. whether it's choral, piano or symphonies I love creating beautiful music. This is why I love my major because I get to study music all day long! I am currently an oboe performance major. One of the hardest, and most interesting, parts of playing my instrument is that I make the part of my instrument that I play on. I make the double reed that vibrates and make sound for my instrument. It is a very delicate and lengthy process but it is very rewarding. When I'm not scraping on reeds or practicing concertos I love camping and hiking with my family in the beautiful landscapes of my home state, Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I cannot imagine what my day to day life would be if I didn't have the Gospel. A lot of my motivation to keep learning and progressing comes from my knowledge that I am progressing towards something. The gospel is just like a life plan it tells you where we came from why we are here and where we can go. The gospel gives me direction and also helps me along the way by giving me hope and peace because I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father and older brother who are there to help me along. They not only provide a sure path, but also provide help when I do fall off the path a little allowing me to get back. These truths are the foundation of my happiness and I want to be able to share this Happiness with others which is why I have decided to spread the good news of the gospel as I serve a full time mission. I know that it is true and I am so grateful for this knowledge, it makes my life so much fuller.

How I live my faith

One of the wonderful things about the church is that you can serve in the church using any type of talent. I have enjoyed being able to share my talents of music while serving in the church. I have been able to accompany choirs and play hymns for meetings or a special musical number. But I have found that often callings use unexpected talents. A visiting teaching calling can help develop cooking skills as you serve the sister you visit. A class president calling can develop artistic skills as you send invitation to girls. I love how as you serve you grow.
